YOUR MISSIONARY

Missionary Glenn Colley is originally form St. Charles, Illinois and graduated form St. Charles High School.  He served four years in the United States marine Corps spending nine months at sea aboard the USS Iwo Jima, the USS Inchon, and the USS Guadalcanal in Europe, Africa, and South America. He then attended College earning a Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) with a major in applied chemistry and a minor in biblical studies. In the course of his studies and work he has traveled throughout the United States and spent time in 22 countries on six of seven continents (except Antarctica).

Glenn returned to the St. Charles area and worked as a career chemist while attending Bethel Baptist Church of St. Charles. He served as director of the junior high age ministries and as

church treasurer.  In 1987 he made his first survey trip to Cambodia and began prayer for a mission work there.  In 1991 he made a second survey trip and permission was received by the national government to welcome his return as a Christian missionary.  At that time the decision was made by the membership of Bethel Baptist Church, the pastor and deacons, and by Glenn Colley to go.   Glenn was ordained by the pastor and deacons of Bethel Baptist Church St. Charles in the Sunday morning service of 2 February, 1992.

In the following days preparations were made including several months of intensive language study and the packing and shipping of basic supplies including a motorcycle.  In November of 1992 Glenn was sent from Chicago's O'Hare airport to the mission field of Cambodia.

Over the past twelve years a base church on the outskirts of Phnom Penh and ten village churches have been established.  Glenn thanks the Lord for God's preparation for a life of services and hoes to fulfill all that God would have him to do in the lord's work.  He serves with his wife Saveun as they begin their twelfth year of marriage. Their three nieces Lee, Maria and Nautj permanently stay with them. The young man is a nephew who was just in the picture. Their confidence is "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it"  II Thessalonians 5:24. Their Desire is in the very next verse, "brethren, pray for us".
